About Sorbet
Sorbet builds cross-border payments for freelancers and small businesses. It is based in Riyadh and runs on stablecoin rails, so customers deal in familiar currencies while the money moves underneath on digital dollars.
How it works
- Get paid from abroad. Customers receive USD and EUR virtual accounts and can collect payments by ACH, wire, SEPA, SWIFT or crypto.
- Hold in digital dollars. Incoming payments are converted into digital dollars, so funds are available straight away.
- Pay out locally. In July 2026 Sorbet added payouts in Pakistani rupees, Saudi riyals and UAE dirhams, sent to the recipient's bank account.
Why it matters for Pakistan
Pakistan received a record $41.6 billion in workers' remittances in FY26, and Saudi Arabia was the largest source over the year. In May 2026 alone, Saudi Arabia and the UAE together sent $2.04 billion of a record $4.25 billion. Read the remittance story.
